Proof read documents. Unfortunately, the grammar and spelling check offered by Microsoft word just doesn’t cut it. You need to spend at least 5 minutes going over a document that is two pages long, to ensure everything is correct and makes sense. It is extremely unprofessional to send a document to a work colleague with mistakes.
Retain the contacts you meet. Take lunch breaks with work colleagues to generate ideas and form solid friendships in an informal setting. With people who you have fallen out of contact with, send an email to resume contact and form connections via LinkedIn.
Organise yourself. Make lists to ensure you focus on tasks that need to be completed, both in work and your personal life.
Value your job or get a new one. Note down the things you enjoy and dislike about your current job. If you generally enjoy your employment and have a sense of satisfaction, this will allow you to focus on the positives and change the negatives.
