Course overview:
This new module has been developed to meet the increasing involvement of assistant practitioners and health care
practitioners/assistants in screening of the foot and lower limb. The aim of this stand alone module is to equip the student with the appropriate skill and knowledge to competently undertake foot screening and associated tasks. Students will be able to demonstrate achievement of learning outcomes whilst actively engaging in workbased learning and professional development. Students will develop a personal and professional portfolio, which will complement the necessary assessments and tasks set within this module for assessment.

Course Syllabus
This is a stand alone module and encompases an overview of Diabetes, its pathology and management and how foot screening in this high risk area is undertaken (practical element) and the theory underpinning vascular and neurological screening proceedures. It laso encompasses how to assess the structure of ther lower limb and patient education and communication.
